The Energy Star Rated Frigidaire FAC126P1A is a 12,000 BTU unit that shows small improvements over the Frigidaire FAC124P1A. Capable of cooling a room of roughly 550 square feet, this is a higher powered unit that is smaller than most units of this capacity.

On the downside, the greater capacity of this unit is also what makes is very heavy. Our recommendation is that you install this unit with the help of a friend to lift its near-73 pound chassis into place.

The louvers on the Frigidaire FAC126P1A are not good at directing airflow at all, as with other similar Frigidaire models. Similarly this unit receives a good amount of complaints about its noise levels, though Frigidaire's specs only show this to be a only few decibels louder than that of a typical conversation (about the sound level of smaller Frigidaire units.

On the plus side, this unit comes with a clean air ionizer, and a remote thermostat. With an EER of 10.8, it is also about 10% more efficient than the Frigidaire FAC124P1A. Interestingly, beyond these few additions, if all else held equal, it seems the only internal difference between the units is the amount of refrigerant contained within each system.

At the time of this posting, we were able to locate this unit for $320 delivered, which is about the same price as the Frigidaire FAC124P1A. Compared to other similarly sized units, the Frigidaire FAC126P1A is a steal given the extra features bundled with this unit.
