Goodman Air conditioners as an independant brand wasn't even on Harold Goodman's mind before he became
a successful Houston air conditioning contractor in 1954. In 1975, his enterprising endeavors expanded with the founding of the
Goodman Manufacturing Company which focused on making flexible air duct and plastic blade registers.
It was not until 1982 he was able to purchase a the machinery of a failing heating, ventilating, and
air conditioning (HVAC) company that his company fully entered the HVAC manufacturing industry with branded Goodman central air conditioners.
Goodman air conditioners as a brand has since focused on building quality central air conditioning units positioned
at inexpensive price points that
feature industry-leading warranties.
Buyers should know that Goodman also markets the Amana brand, as well, with liscence from the Maytag Corporation.
