The diminutive Kenmore 75050 is exclusively sold by Sears at the market price of $98 making it one of the most inexpensive air conditioners that we have ever reviewed. Quite frankly, at this price point you shouldn't expect much in the way of features. The Spartan Kenmore 75050 lacks electronic controls (a numbered dial is used instead), a remote control, a timer, an energy saving mode, and a vent.

Nevertheless, it still packs a punch and is much more than a step up from a fan. People seem to just love this unit. It's small, easy to move, handles its task capably and is quiet as you please. In fact, the Kenmore 75050 actually dehumidifies the air at the same rate as the upgraded, energy star rated Kenmore 75051

The warranty on the Kenmore 75050 is for one year on parts and for five years on the entire sealed system, making it one of the better deals around. That, coupled with the fact that this is a brand that is exclusively sold by Sears ensures that if a system issue ever does arise, you know where to go to have it fixed.

While we would prefer a higher EER for an investment like this, we find that the cost difference at this very low BTU capacity is almost a moot point. Still, if you can live without the extra bells, whistles and extra cost of the more modern Kenmore 75051, we would highly recommend this unit as a small, cheap solution.
