Lennox air conditioners are manufactuered by Lennox International Inc which was founded by Dave Lennox in 1895 when he built and marketed the first riveted-steel furnace.

Since then, the company has expanded greatly and Lennox air conditioners have become an industry leader in innovation. In 2003, the company introduced HSX19 which was then the quietest and most efficient central air conditioner in the industry at the time. Soon after in 2005, Lennox began to market the first air conditioner rated at 20+ SEER for energy efficiency. Finally, in 2008, Lennox air conditioners innovated once again with its 'SunSource' technology - the first residential heating and cooling system that utilizes an integrated solar panel to assist in system operation and reduce costs.
